WORDS

THIN AIR

I’m holding on to moments in time.

Frozen like snapshots at the scene of a crime.

I want these things to go away and take me back before

today.

I just want to fade into myself now.

And I fall like ancient tears.

Dropped into the brushfire.

Burning here for years.

With ashes just like memories...into thin air.

Sound in the room. What can it be?

The voice of someone living in me.

Every day the spaces grow.

And I watch the circle close.

I wish it was dark so you couldn’t see me.

Now I fall like ancient tears.

Dropped into the brushfire.

Burning here for years.

The ashes just like memories...into thin air.

Now I fall like ancient tears.

Dropped into the brushfire.

It’s burning here for years.

The ashes just like memories,

and when the smoke around us clears,

we are disappearing…into thin air.
