TRAIN

Burned fields full of gravel. Big ugly cranes.

I write your name with my finger on the dusty windowpane.

I’m coming to get you, baby. I want you to feel the pain.

I’m staring out at the twilight.

Riding on this train.

Sun heats up the tree line. The tracks race by.

And all the spray-painted scenery is just beauty to my eyes.

Kota, Boss, and Chico. Leon, Cobbs, and Wolf Insane.

But there’s ain’t no soul colder than mine,

Riding on this train.

I see a young couple looking happy. Holding each other so tight.

That kind of love'll tear your heart out. Cause dear boy, it’s bound to die.

Might be quick just like a gun shot. Might go slowly down the drain.

My hands are skilled in that vocation. Stuffed in my pockets on this train.

Slip into a tunnel. All that soft dark comforts me.

I feel so at home here. There’s no place I’d rather be.

Now we pull into the station. The air gets cold, it starts to rain.

When I’m good and through with you, love.

I’ll be back riding on this train.

Yes, when I’m good and through with you, love.

I’ll be back riding on this train.

When I’m good and through with you, love.

I’ll be back riding on this train.

Riding on this train.
