WASTED

I know all too well - every drunk needs his drink.

I said, “It looks like we’ve got company.” No one even blinked.

You struck out again. Some people never listen.

When you stare your nightmares in the face they raise you to the wind.

Flashcubes and mob scenes when you walk through the door.

I hate to say, “I told you so.” But I told you before.

You spin your wheels, and talk about the girls you’ve been.

I just stand there speechless and they raise you to the wind.

They raise you to the wind and then they tip their hat.

You won’t know what hit you. Now, how do you like that?

It sounds like the way to live. Lots of freedom and peace.

They tuck you in with a pick and shovel and you’ve signed your release.

Still you believe that you’ve never really sinned.

Someone’s up there laughing as they raise you to the wind.

You’ve stolen so much now. You can’t remember what you took.

Everybody makes mistakes, but you could write a book.

Still you believe that you’ve never really sinned.

Someone’s up there laughing as they raise you to the wind.

They raise you to the wind.
